The location was good on the hill, which enabled us to step out for the walk. We had an amazing view across the hills and sheep and cows in front of the cottage. kitchen was full of cooking facilities such as many pots with dishwasher. The bedrooms were beautiful with beautiful linen and lovely ornaments. There were two bath rooms: one was toilet and shower. Each had plenty of hot water. The second was toilet and a bath. They gave us good bread milk and eggs from the farm. The owner was very kind and helpful. It was a lovely place to return from walks. .
Idyllic place in the heart of the Peaks
A unique setting nestled among the best of the Peak District's landscapes. Quiet, peaceful and remote location with great access to paths.
Stunning location, very snowy and idyllic, and the house was immaculate and very warm and lovely with views to the hills and on Denise’s and David’s working farm with a tractor on hand in case you get stuck in the snow, ahem. Thank you, Denise and David !
Sleeping in a fairytale farm
Great location, wonderful host. You get everything you need for short or long stay. Only problem is you may not want to leave cottage, it's so nice ?

Cosy and charming south-facing cottages that we have now visited 3 times. I guarantee that once
you have stayed here you will want to return time and again.
The scenery is absolutely beautiful.
The cottages are equipped with everything that you could possibly need. There is a washing machine and dryer available. Outside there are tables and chairs and a gas barbecue, and another small and
very pretty garden with benches. You will receive a warm welcome on arrival. This really is the place to stay in beautiful Castleton.
Beautiful 2 bedroom cottage situated within farm. Fully equipped, very clean. Within walking distance from Castleton.

The cottage is well equipped with everything you could want and more and is in a stunning
surrounding.
We were given a friendly and generous welcome, and nothing was too much trouble for the owners - we could not have enjoyed our stay
Quite and relaxing place good for walking the dogs and close to lots of thinks to do and eat out without driving
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage – it’s absolutely lovely, spotlessly clean, and really cosy and warm even though we visited in November. Denise is a delightful host: kind, helpful, and great company. We really enjoyed chatting with her, David, and the very friendly Bella! Castleton itself is charming, with excellent pubs, independent shops, and plenty of beautiful walks right on your doorstep – all just a short, easy stroll from the farm. We couldn’t have asked for a better base for exploring the Peak District and would happily return in a heartbeat

Fabulous week at Shepherds Cottage. Denise was so helpful in the run-up, as we were unsure as to whether the whole family would make it there. The cottage was gorgeous and the views even better. Sitting outside in the evening was the greatest joy. We will definitely return.
GabrellaOur stay in Riding House Farm Cottages provided everything that we could have wanted. A beautiful cottage, in a picturesque location with wonderful hosts; we had a lovely time. We would recommend Riding Farm Cottages to anyone who enjoys walking holidays or simply wants to relax in beautiful surroundings.
We were a party of three with one walker and two cyclists.
The accommodation was wonderful and the location perfectly placed to explore Castleton and the surrounding areas. The hosts were on had and responsive should we need anything and I would stay again
if visiting the area in the future.
